Martina Cecilia is born in 1984.
She's born in a family of
comics lovers and collectors and read all sort of stories since she learned how to. So she grows up reading
Topolino,
Metal Haurlant,
Linus,
Corto Maltese,
Frigidaire Asterix and a lot of non-children-suitable comics.
When teenage she read a lot of
mangas which influenced strongly her drawing style.
Finished high school she attended a professional course for
comic artists and
comic colourists, in 2007 she attended an internate at TopToon learning the basics of traditional animation.
She occasionally works as pixel artist for
Mondonerd.com making videogames for cellphones.
She published short stories as a colourist for
Module-etrange,
Soleil and
Cagliostro e-press.
She actually works for
Coniglio Editore colouring for the magazines
Winx Club and
Pixie Magazine.
Her style is influenced by mangas, Barbucci, Gianni DeLuca, Guido Crepax, Milo Manara, Guido Buzzelli, Carlos Gomez, Gibrat, Guarnido, All things Disney, Hiroki Endo, Hiroaki Samura, all those wonderful fairytales illustrator from the 70es in the "Fiabe Sonore" collection and of course Vogue magazine.
She loves music (New Wave, Industrial, 80es Synth-pop, Folk, Country-folk, electroclash) and loves going to concerts and scream like a 13 years old fangirl.
She loves cinema and fashion and vintage clothing. She loves colors, shoes, watercolours, her kolinsky brush, kitsch and trash, Guybrush Threepwood, design.
